NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS | 2008

Ok, I was challenged by my peers and I challenge you to blog about your resolutions and we'll revisit this next year - same time :)

hmmmm... my 2008 resolutions are:

1. education - take more classes to educate myself in business and life.
2. health - laugh everyday, workout more, listen to more music.
3. travel - expand out of my comfort zone and travel to new places I have not been to for business (or pleasure).
4. expansion - on business and social networks.
5. justice and truth - may honesty and truth rule 2008!!
6. challenge - push the boundaries to new levels.
7. organize and hire more people to help with my growing business. (inquire within)
8. educate my clients more about wedding photography - that you pay for what you get!
9. master guitar hero :)
10. love - love is all you need! Take a bit more time for myself - allow myself to love, and be in love, with more then my dog and my business!

I am very blessed & don't really advertise that much (thanks to YOU I get a lot of word of mouth referrals) but today I picked up a copy of Aislewalk Magazine and found 3 of my images in them for 2 of my FAVORITE vendors!

well, the website is ALMOST done... until then I have created a new fan club site on FACEBOOK!

Please feel free to join it, add your wedding photos or baby photos, or any photos I have taken for you on it. Pass this fun site along to friends, engaged friends, pregnant friends or even your grandparents :)

2008 is BUSY! BUSY! BUSY! and my phone is ringing off the hook for date inquiries.

If you have a venue, I highly recommend seeking your photographer now because most of us can only photograph one wedding a day.

What does the wedding industry do in winter?

I am often asked...What does the wedding season do in the off season?

DUH - we go to the spa, of course!!!!
ok, ok I may be glamorizing it a bit... but a girl can dream can't she?!

Today Gail (from the Brock House), Candice (from A Day to Remember Wedding Planning) and I made that dream a reality!

we decided to treat ourselves for a nice little t.l.c. after such a long hard wedding season, and yet before we tackle the upcoming wedding consultations we will have in the next few weeks.
so fun!!!!
I highly recommend these ladies if you are looking for a fabulous venue or spectacular wedding planner to help you with your day.

P.S. bribe them with box wine and or a mani/pedi and you will be AMAZED at how much smoother your day will go!

Friendship never ends...

When my one of my best friends from high school, called me up saying she was coming to town, with her family and would like some portraits done - I was soooo excited.

I haven't seen Wendy for about 8 years! I was giddy to hear her voice, and couldn't wait to see her and her family in person. (now I know how the Spice Girls must have felt being united again! hee hee!)

a beautiful snow filled crisp day had me cruising to Chiliwack, BC.
Now, I also haven't been to Chiliwack for about 13 years since Wendy last lived there. Ironically, she is the reason I came out to BC in the first place.
After high school, she left Ottawa, moved West and got married. Heartbroken from her departure, I came to visit her. When I got here, I took one look at the mountains, I knew this was where I would call HOME for a while now too.

I returned to Ottawa, packed up my car, and drove West. It was wonderful being close to her again. A few years later, she informed me that she was moving to Alberta, but I just could not keep up with this jet setter :)

Once day (a girl I had met in a consultation weeks before) called me from Whistler, late at night, while vacationing with her family and said yes, yes, yes...we want YOU to be our photographer for our wedding!!!!

Little did I know at that time, this girl would happen to become one of my bestest best friends int he whole wide world!!!!

Sorry, I have a bit m.i.a. this week - I have been in meeting with lovely lovely couples for 2008, booking like crazy, a few shoots and working on my new website (very exciting!!!!!!)

I know most of you are closing up shop this week, and I am just wishing you all the best this holiday season, and look forward to working with you in the new year!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

If you know my at all.. I LOVE holidays!
That's why I feel I have the BEST job in the WORLD - many celebrations!

It's December 1st, we have had our first snowfall of the year, my Christmas shopping is allll DONE (image that, this year I am avoiding the stores), our photo-shoot for today got postponed to next week, and Whiskey and I have decided to take the day off to get our place ready for the Christmas!!!!!

but first, a quick play in the snow with our friends...
